Leioa Big Band

Leioa Big Band is a project which encompares Count Basie and Duke Ellington´s swing with some Cuban guaracha or montuno, brazilian Jobim´s bossa, some funk and pop-rock song.

Actually the band is composed of a wind section (saxophones, trombons and trumpets), rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, drums and percussion) and a singer. 24 musicians and the musical director.

During the last few years, the band has played in different venues like Palacio Euskalduna, Palacio de Justicia, Journalism Awards in EITB, International Jazz Festival in Getxo, Jazz Festival in Quintanilla de la Ribera, Bilbao Jazz District and in different halls like Leioa Kultur aretoa, Kalian, Amaia Theater in Arrasate, Amurrio Antzokia, LA Haceria, Espacio Garabia, Barakaldo Theatre, Hika Ateneo and Music-music International Festival among others.

We have collaborated in the album called Deseo, “Cartografia imposible” by Doctor Deseo band. We have participated in different performances next to professional jazz musicians such as Willy Muñoz, Abraham de Román, Marcos Salcines and the famous Andrezj Olejniczak.
